Kia ora, I’m Harmz, and I’m pleased to be the Kaitiaki of this page. It’s great to have you here! Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, I’m here to support you. We’re working on developing this e-learning platform for its launch in January 2025. Take a look at the current version we have available, and be sure to come back soon for an updated version.

Supporting our bros who have received a sexual abuse disclosure

This webpage is dedicated to Māori and Pacific men who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. We understand that sharing your story and seeking help can be challenging, but you are not alone. This space is for you – to learn new skills, get support, resources, and be in a community that understands and stands by you.

Understanding the Impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse

When someone discloses sexual abuse to you, your response can be critical in helping them feel safe and validated. Here are some essential principles to keep in mind:

Module One:
Hamiora: Understanding my chaos: Learn how to come out of your own chaos that keeps you trapped and finding a way forward.

Module Two:
Hamiora: Chaos to figure out part 2: In the second module we learn to find opportunities "Te Korekore" from our trauma.

Module Three:
A message of hope: Respect the bros privacy. Unless they are in immediate danger or at risk of harming themselves or others, keep the disclosure confidential.
